Tantric massage

Tantric is a style of massage that draws heavily upon the principles of tantra, an ancient practice originating in Southeast Asia. In modern-day Western practice, tantric massage includes massaging and stimulating the entire body with a particular focus on erogenous zones like the penis(lingam) and vulva(yoni). It's can be referred to as simply an erotic massage, although a tantra massage incorporates breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness elements. The fact that I incorporate these into my sensual massage practice means that what I do is much akin to a tantric massage.

Tantric massage has a spiritual and energetic component, where the practitioner or giver is said to help move the receiver's energy through the body to promote healing.  Tantric practitioners believe that they are skillfully incorporating this universal force into their massage. They think that it can touch the deepest layers and aspects of a human as a profound instrument of spiritual and emotional healing.

Tantra comes from ancient Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain traditions,. Most tantra practiced in the West though is properly referred to as neotantra because it is a modern adaptation that focuses specifically on what is known as "sacred sexuality", as opposed to the other spiritual and religious elements of traditional tantra. As such, it is not intended for the tantric purist who probably needs to seek out a Tantra guru or such-like. If anyone wanted to explore and commit to more traditional teachings of tantra, then a sensual massage experience can serve as a springboard. What happens during a tantra massage will vary greatly depending on the setting and therapist. Generally, tantric massage includes stimulating and massaging your whole body, including genitalia, while doing a breathing meditation, and other spiritual practice and energy work. Most forms of tantric massage involve the yoni massage (vulva), the lingam massage(penis), and the "sacred spot" (prostate to you and me). 

Tantric massage is frequently done at home with your partner and is a way to introduce a slower, more intentional and intimate form of sensuality into your  sex life.  People may orgasm during a tantra massage, though that's not the goal. It is more about leaning into pleasure, releasing energetic tension and blocks, and connecting on a spiritual level with another person. Intercourse is not a tantra massage, though it can be incorporated into a tantric sexual experience between a couple.
